The ESXi-Customizer-PS PowerShell script ( -front.de/p/esxi-customizer-ps.html) can be used to integrate drivers and updates into the ESXi 5.x, 6.x, and 7.0 installation images. To use this script, you must have VMware PowerCLI installed on your computer.
In case you are using the HPE VMware ESXi custom images. The tool is already pre-installed when installing ESXi. The tool is installed as a VIB (vSphere Installable Bundle). This means it can also be updated with vSphere Update Manager.
Caution When Updating To ESXi 6.5 Update 3 HPE Custom 2020
The reason for the Lifecycle Manager problem is that when using Baselines, VMware is apparently using an unsigned VIB, which is the update agent that Lifecycle Manager pushes out to the ESXi hosts when scanning or updating them. This is a very unfortunate mistake, which I hope they will fix before vSphere 8.0. I recommend you open a support case and tell VMware they need to fix this in 7.0 as well.---(Now back to the blog text..)
Apr 06 2020 6:47 ET Update - If you have a host at ESXi 6.7 Update 3 with patch release ESXi670-201911001 (Build 15160138) applied, that patch came out February 5 2020. It appears it wasn't tested with the ESXi 7.0 GA code that was published internally on Mar 16 2020, as you can see here below. This also could be the reason I'm getting errors (with no upgrade success) when trying to use ESXCLI to update this host, they're seen in detail in my ssh transcript here below. Errors include: 2ff7e9595c
